Our friend Cavin will be capturing all the action at our November event. Time to get personal!
1. Where does your inspiration come from?
My photography draws inspiration from may different art forms. Films and television with excellent lighting and creative cinematography give me creative inspiration for the technical side of my photography. I find it so incredible how different lighting and camera angles can tell completely different stories – so much so that I can barely make my mind focus on the actual dialogue :-)
Most importantly, the mood and the soul of my photography are inspired by the emotions that I see in front of me on a wedding day. There’s something about the raw, honest feelings of laughter, happy tears, and love that create an irresistible attraction with my camera.
2. What is your big why? What keeps you going professionally?
I love seeing the happiness on my brides’ and grooms’ faces during their wedding day and I love seeing the joy in their expressions when they see their wedding images for the first time.
Giving my brides and grooms this experience and seeing their elated reactions to my work are the reasons I’m a wedding photographer.
3. Favorite San Diego restaurants?
San Diego restaurants never cease to amaze me. Being a vegetarian in San Diego is so incredibly easy, especially when there’s Evolution, a vegan fast food restaurant. I’ve started taking a different route from some of my sessions just so I don’t eat there multiple times a week! I also love Barrio Star for their incredible soyrizo tacos and fruity sangria.
4. Favorite guilty pleasure?
My favorite guilty pleasure is a pretty guilty one. The red velvet bundtlets from Nothing Bundt Cakes get me every time. I had my first bundtlet at a wedding in May and it’s been downhill since ;-) When I was living in DC, it was Georgetown Cupcake. So basically, sweets have always been my guilty pleasure and likely always will be.
5. One random fact
If I could live anywhere in the world, I would live in Annecy, France. When I was 15, I spent a week there and realized it was one of the most beautiful cities I’d ever laid eyes upon. Annecy has the clearest lake you could imagine that happens to be surrounded by beautiful mountains. It’s like a dream.
